Baby Product Swaps

Babies and young children are uniquely vulnerable to chemical exposure. Their organs are still developing, their skin is thinner and more permeable, and they spend more time on the floor where dust and chemical residues settle. Getting this right matters more than almost anything else.

Why babies need extra care

A baby's skin is 30% thinner than adult skin and absorbs chemicals at a significantly higher rate. Their liver and kidneys are not yet fully developed, meaning they cannot metabolise and eliminate chemicals as efficiently as adults. Their bodies are also growing rapidly, which means any disruption to hormonal signalling has the potential for lasting effects.

The term baby or gentle on a product label is not regulated. It does not mean free from parabens, synthetic fragrance or SLS. Many mainstream baby products contain exactly the same ingredients as adult products, simply marketed differently.

The products below are certified, transparent and formulated specifically to avoid ingredients of concern for young children.

The word gentle on a baby product label means nothing without certification behind it. The most vulnerable people in your household deserve the most scrutiny on what goes on their skin. These products have earned that trust through independent verification, not just marketing.

Start clean. The habits you build now last a lifetime.
